Homeware Haul - I regret nothing

Who needs money anyways? Haha.

Just kidding. I had enough to stock up on some homeware items for the apartment.

Here I'll show you some of the things I got and hopefully serve as some inspiration to any of you who are also trying to re-decorate!

So without further ado, here are some of my purchases:

This beautiful rug is from 'Eastern Flair' in Newtown

'Spring' scented candle by Homestead Candles - Bought at - 'Reclaim Vintage', Newtown

Isn't it a lovely shade of red? - Tulips from 'Dr Earth', Newtown

Fascinating read, and visually impressive illustrations - From 'Reclaim Vintage', Newtown

Funky little poster right? This is actually sold as wrapping paper at 'Monster Threads', but I couldn't let myself use it to wrap. Besides, who doesn't want birds on their bathroom door?

Have you bought any nice homeware items recently? Any suggestions to help me decorate? Flick me a comment

Homeware Haul #2

Hey hey,
I said I'd show you what I bought right?
Newtown happens to be filled with many charming vintage and antique shops, which is exactly where I went to buy these items. Check out the photos!
There's a fantastic lantern in a beautiful mint green colour which I've been pairing with bath time, it creates a mesmerizing glow in the room. I use tealights for it.
The three little houses are all vintage tea tins, so I'm using them to hold sugar and tea at the moment. I couldn't help but buy all three as a set. They look adorable all together don't they?
The glass decanter is actually quite small, and therefore a bit less common than most crystal decanters you'd see. I've tested it out with some strong stout, and will likely use it with whisky or scotch. The decanter itself just seemed like a lovely piece to own.
Lastly, there's the fantastic tiered cake stand. Did you look closely? It's made of old records!!! Hahaha.
I thought this was an extremely clever way to reuse the records. It looks fantastic hosting the little cupcakes I made.
Keep an eye out for more homeware hauls coming soon. I'll be buying some products hopefully from Typo's new store.
Are there any home items you guys can recommend for me to buy? Let me know in the comments below!

Blind date with a Book

Checking out their hot edges ;)

You're thinking what???

What date? With a book? What?!!!

Well, this is simply a fantastic idea which I discovered in Newtown
while browsing 'Elizabeth's Bookstore'.

"The King St store started wrapping staff-selected books in brown paper, handwriting a few key words on the front and calling them Blind Date Books last April.
Customers can buy the book either for themselves or as a present and store manager Melanie Prosser said it encouraged people to move outside their literary comfort zone.
“People have such a hard time choosing what to read and you do tend to judge a book on what you see, so this takes all the choice out of it,” she said."
-Daily Telegraph

Isn't it fantastic? As a book fanatic, going on a date with one sounds perfect!

Naturally I bought one.
Out of all of them this was the only one in the Sci-Fi genre,
or at least lacking soppy Romance descriptions... Hahaha

I got very lucky with this one, it's a classic Horror/Sci-Fi which is a 1961 Penguin.
'The Midwich Cuckoos' by John Wyndham, also known as the movie
'The Village of the Damned'

Have a look at the full article about this wonderful dating experience:

Have you guys ever bought these books?
If you were to do a blind book date, which book would it be with?
